4. MIĘDZYNARODOWY KONKURS PLAKATU "WE WANT JAZZ"

Opis:
Jednoczymy się przeciw wojnie! Poruszeni i przejęci atakiem Rosji na Ukrainę uznaliśmy, że nie może być innego tematu konkursu niż "Make Jazz Not War". Zrozumieliśmy, jak bardzo ważna jest muzyka i kultura. Ile muzyka, a w szczególności jazz, może dawać i daje radości oraz pozytywnej energii. Zrozumieliśmy, że w tych trudnych czasach jazz może być ostoją normalności, bo leży na przeciwnym biegunie do okrucieństw i cierpień wywoływanych przez wojnę.

Kierując się ważnością tematu łączymy siły ze Śląskim Jazz Clubem i wydarzenie pod hasłem "Make Jazz Not War" organizujemy wspólne. Pierwszym etapem tegorocznego konkursu będzie wystawa festiwalowa podczas 18. edycji Międzynarodowego Festiwalu "Jazz w Ruinach". Wystawa odbędzie się w liczącej ponad 150 lat Hali Modeli GZUT w Gliwicach. Będzie ona miała charakter preselekcyjny, a spośród zakwalifikowanych do niej plakatów zostaną wyłonione finałowe prace konkursu "We want jazz".

Popularyzacja jazzu poprzez zaangażowanie międzynarodowego środowiska artystów grafików.

Zgłoszeń plakatów do konkursu należy dokonywać za pomocą FORMULARZA ZGŁOSZENIA dostępnego na stronie organizatora.

NAGRODY:
I nagroda – 5000 zł
II nagroda – 3000 zł
III nagroda – 2000 zł
Kwota nagród jest kwotą brutto i zostanie pomniejszona o należny podatek od nagród.

REGULAMIN KONKURSU:
Etap 1:
Spośród nadesłanych poprzez system rejestracji wszystkich plakatów zostanie wyłonionych przez jury ok. 150 prac. W skład międzynarodowego jury wejdą eksperci oraz przedstawiciele organizatora konkursu "We want jazz". Wyłonione przez jury festiwalowej wystawy prace zostaną zaprezentowane w formie wydruku i/lub projekcji w trakcie trwania 18. Międzynarodowego Festiwalu "Jazz w Ruinach".

Przewiduje się także ekspozycje pofestiwalowe, również na stronach internetowych organizatora i partnerów festiwalu "Jazz w Ruinach". Wyniki selekcji plakatów do wystawy festiwalowej zostaną ogłoszone przed rozpoczęciem festiwalu na stronach Śląskiego Jazz Clubu, festiwalu "Jazz w Ruinach" oraz na antenie i stronie internetowej RadioJAZZ.FM, na łamach JAZZPRESS i w mediach społecznościowych.

Etap 2:
Organizatorzy dokonają selekcji finałowych 20 plakatów spośród prac zakwalifikowanych do wystawy festiwalowej 18. edycji Międzynarodowego Festiwalu "Jazz w Ruinach". Spośród wyselekcjonowanych, 20 finałowych plakatów zostaną wybrane trzy zwycięskie plakaty, których autorzy otrzymają nagrody finansowe. Jury przyzna także wyróżnienia. S

elekcji plakatów i wyboru zwycięskiego dzieła dokona powołane w tym celu jury, w którego skład wejdą eksperci oraz przedstawiciele organizatora. Wyniki konkursu zostaną ogłoszone w dniu 5 września 2022 roku na antenie i stronie internetowej RadioJAZZ.FM, na łamach JAZZPRESS oraz na stronach Śląskiego Jazz Clubu, festiwalu "Jazz w Ruinach" i w mediach społecznościowych.

Informujemy, że autor zgłaszając swoje prace udziela organizatorowi i partnerowi projektu, nieodpłatnie i na czas nieokreślony licencji niewyłącznej na korzystanie z przesłanych prac. W ramach licencji organizator i partner konkursu zostaje upoważniony do korzystania z prac na wszystkich znanych w chwili udzielenia licencji polach eksploatacji, a w szczególności do:
(1) utrwalania i zwielokrotniania prac poprzez tworzenie egzemplarzy pracy techniką drukarską, reprograficzną, zapisu magnetycznego oraz techniką cyfrową,
(2) użyczania lub najmu oryginału lub egzemplarzy pracy,
(3) publicznego wystawiania, wyświetlania, a także publicznego udostępniania prac w taki sposób, aby każdy mógł mieć do nich dostęp w miejscu i w czasie przez siebie wybranym.

Organizator oraz partner projektu mogą udzielić sublicencji na korzystanie z dzieł innym podmiotom w zakresach wymienionych powyżej. Zgłaszając prace do wystawy uczestnik oświadcza, że posiada autorskie prawa majątkowe do dzieła i jego nadesłanej wersji cyfrowej oraz wyraża zgodę na publikowanie swojego imienia, nazwiska i narodowości.

JURY KONKURSU:
Prof. LECH MAJEWSKI – grafik, plakacista, kierownik Katedry Komunikacji Wizualnej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie Współtwórca Międzynarodowego Biennale Plakatu w Warszawie. Członek jury konkursów plastycznych. Honorowy członek Stowarzyszenia Twórców Grafiki Użytkowej (STGU). Autor posterów jazzowych. Posiada ważny dorobek w dziedzinie projektowania książek, albumów, z których wiele zdobyło nagrody i wyróżnienia. Laureat 7. Biennale Plakatu Polskiego w Katowicach, Międzynarodowego Salonu Plakatu w Paryżu i Triennale Plakatu w Trnavie.

Dr hab. TOMASZ KIPKA - grafik, adiunkt w Instytucie Sztuki Wydziału Artystycznego Uniwersytetu Śląskiego, profesor nadzw. w Wyższej Szkole Technicznej w Katowicach. laureat nagród i wyróżnień za plakaty, identyfikację wizualną i projektowanie książki, m.in.: Nagrody Międzynarodowej Rady Stowarzyszeń Grafików Projektantów ICOGRADA Excellence Award, międzynarodowego Grand Prix za plakat ekologiczny, Śląskiej Rzeczy. Organizator i kurator projektu cyklicznej wystawy plakatu ekologicznego „Ekoplakat” (od 2006) oraz wystawy plakatu Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Jazz w Ruinach (od 2009).

ANDRZEJ WĄSIK - artysta plastyk, reżyser, projektant grafiki i animacji, autor opraw wielu wydawnictw książkowych. Absolwent Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Toruniu. Zdobywca nagród i nominacji na festiwalu YachFilm. 4th "WE WANT JAZZ" INTERNATIONAL POSTER COMPETITON
Theme: JAZZ NOT WAR

Description:
We are united against the war! Moved and taken over by Russia's attack on Ukraine, we decided that there could be no other topic of the competition than "Make jazz not war". We realized how important music and culture are. How much music, and jazz in particular, can and does bring joy and positive energy. We realized that in these difficult times, jazz can be a mainstay of normality, because it lies at the opposite extreme to the atrocities and suffering caused by war.

Guided by the importance of the topic, we join forces with the Silesian Jazz Club and organize the event under the slogan "Make jazz not war" together. The first stage of this year's competition will be the festival exhibition during this year's 18th edition of the "Jazz in Ruins" International Festival. The exhibition will be held in the 150-year-old GZUT Model Hall in Gliwice. It will have a pre-selection character, and the final works of the "We want jazz" competition will be selected from among the posters qualified for it.

EUROJAZZ Jazz Music Promotion Foundation, publisher of the Internet radio RadioJAZZ.FM, the e-monthly and the JazzPRESS newspaper.
The competition's partner is the Silesian Jazz Club

Goal:
Popularization of jazz through the involvement of the international community of graphic artists.

Poster applications for the competition should be made using THE FORM AVAILABLE on the organizer's website.

The amount of the prizes is gross amount and will be reduced by the tax due on the prizes.

RULES OF THE COMPETITION:
Stage 1:
About 150 works will be selected by the jury from all the posters sent through the registration system. The international jury will include experts and representatives of the organizer of the "We want jazz" competition. The works selected by the festival jury will be presented in the form of a printout and / or screening during the 18th International Festival "Jazz in Ruins".

Post-festival exhibitions are also planned, also on the website of the organizer and partners of the "Jazz in Ruins" festival. The results of the selection of posters for the festival exhibition will be announced before the festival begins on the websites of the Silesian Jazz Club, the festival "Jazz in Ruins", festival partners, as well as on the air and the website of RadioJAZZ.FM, in JAZZPRESS and in social media.

Stage 2:
The organizers will select the final 20 posters from among the works qualified for the festival exhibition of the 18th edition of the International Festival "Jazz in Ruins". From among the selected 20 final posters, three winning posters will be selected, the authors of which will receive financial awards. The jury will also award distinctions. Posters will be selected, and the winning work will be chosen by a jury composed of experts and representatives of the organizer.

The results of the competition will be announced on September 5, 2022 on the air and on the RadioJAZZ.FM website, on the pages of JAZZPRESS and on the pages of the Silesian Jazz Club, the festival "Jazz in Ruins" and on social media.

Please be advised that the author, by submitting their works, grants the organizer and the project partner, free of charge and for an indefinite period of time, a non-exclusive license to use the submitted works. Under the license, the organizer and partner of the competition are authorized to use the works in all the fields of use known at the time of granting the license, in particular: (1) recording and reproducing the works by creating copies of the work using printing, reprographic, magnetic recording and digital technology, ( 2) lending or renting the original or copies of the work, (3) displaying, and making the work available to the public in such a way that everyone can have access to them in a place and time chosen by them.

The organizer and the project partner may grant sub-licenses for the use of works to other entities within the scope mentioned above. By submitting works to the exhibition, the participant declares that they have the proprietary copyrights to the work and its’ submitted digital version, and agrees to publish their name, surname and nationality.

COMPETITION JURY:
Prof. LECH MAJEWSKI - graphic designer, poster artist, head of the Department of Visual Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Co-founder of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw. Member of the jury of art competitions. Honorary member of the Association of Applied Graphic Designers (STGU). Author of jazz posters. He has an important track record in the field of book and album design, many of which have won awards and distinctions. Laureate of the 7th Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice, the International Poster Salon in Paris and the Poster Triennial in Trnava.

Dr hab. TOMASZ KIPKA - graphic designer, assistant professor at the Art Institute of the Art Department of the University of Silesia, associate professor at the University of Technology in Katowice. laureate of awards and distinctions for posters, visual identification and book design, including: the International Council of Graphic Designers Associations ICOGRADA Excellence Award, the international Grand Prix for an ecological poster, Śląska Rzeczy. Organizer and curator of the project of the cyclical exhibition of the ecological poster "Ekoplakat" (since 2006) and poster exhibitions of the International Jazz in Ruins Festival (since 2009).

ANDRZEJ WĄSIK - director, graphic and animation designer, author of many book publishers. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Toruń. Winner of awards and nominations at the YachFilm festival. Director of television programs, author of documentaries, non-profit artistic projects, music videos, commercials and many graphics for TV stations and programs.
